COVID -19

What to expect at Rachel Stanton School of Dance

We are a COVID secure business and our staff have attended an online training course in Preventing COVID -19

Whilst we are all excited to be back with our ‘Dance Family’ we need to ensure that we are returning safely and working within the Government guidelines.

We appreciate that this is all very different, however I am sure that if we work together we can make our new ‘normal’ as enjoyable as possible for all our Superstars.

Please read the information below and as always if you have any questions or concerns please speak to us to discuss them.

Social Distancing

Social distancing must be maintained at all times.

Staff will maintain social distancing measures at all times between each other and children and parents.  They will keep physical contact with the children to an absolute minimum and only where absolutely necessary e.g. in the interest of Health and Safety.

Class numbers have been reduced to ensure this can be maintained.

Start and finish times have been adapted to achieve this.

Parents/Carers will not be allowed in the building and the waiting room will be out of use until further notice.

We have removed the double doors from the entrance to studio 2 to allow both studios to be used

Social distancing floor stickers are in place to assist your child to maintain their distance.

We have also opened a second door at the top of the stairs where children will exit the studio from.

Dropping off and picking up

Please bring your child no earlier than 5 minutes before the start of their class.  There will be a member of staff at the main door waiting for the children to arrive.  They will at the end of the class bring them to the main door to meet you to ensure that someone is there to collect them. If someone not known to the school is coming to collect them please let us know.

Please do not come into the school to collect your child.

The main door will be closed during classes and students who arrive late will not be allowed to enter (unless this is by prior arrangement).

Cleaning

This will be done daily. High touch point areas and bathrooms, will be cleaned and sanitised between classes e.g. door handles, stair rails, light switches. Automatic no touch hand sanitiser dispensers are at the entrance/exit to the building and must be used on arrival and before exiting the School.  There are also 2 more at the entrances to both studios.

We have installed automatic no touch soap dispensers, encase toilet roll holders and paper towel dispensers in both bathrooms.

The use of props will be kept to a minimum and will be cleaned and sanitised after use.

Ballet barres will also be sanitised between classes where they have been in use.

Students

Must arrive ready for their class and only bring essential items with them. During this time please do not bring your notebooks and pens.

Shoes must be removed in the waiting room and placed on the shoe rack. There is a one way system in place which is clearly marked. Please avoid contact with each other e.g. no hugs.

If your child or someone in your household is unwell please let us know and do not bring them to class.

Track and Trace

Registers will be taken as normal.  If a student displays any symptoms of COVID-19  during their lesson they will be withdrawn and you will be contacted immediately.

Should a member of staff or a student be suspected of or is tested positive for COVID-19 they should self-isolate for 14 days and inform Miss Rachel without delay. The software we use for the administration of the Dance School has the facility to print a report which will display all students enrolled in classes with the student or member of staff affected. In the event of this happening we will contact everyone and will close the school for 24 hours to allow us to perform a deep clean, any class missed during this time will be rescheduled or refunded.

What happens in an evacuation?

Social distancing during an evacuation is not required. The children will exit the building with staff members who will remain with them at all times and ensure that social distancing resumes once it is safe to do so.

First Aid

Should there be a need to administer First Aid, all members of staff have the required PPE to protect both themselves and your child, they have also received guidance on carrying out First Aid during COVID-19.

These measures may change in line with the Government guidelines and recommendations.
